What kind of a Club is SYC?
SYC is a private club with the principal goal of enhancing safe recreational boating in the
Sacramento area. We offer many events and facilities to accomplish this. By the nature of
our location, most of our boats are power, although some sailboats are to be found.
Memberships are "family" based.

Throughout everything we do, the emphasis is on fun !

We are one of the few Yacht Clubs in Northern California to own our own grounds, buildings
and docks and a full Bar and Banquet facility.

SYC is primarily a "Volunteer Club", meaning that member effort constitutes a large part of
the maintenance and upgrade of our Club. There is no requirement for volunteer work, but
most people who do find new friendships and enjoyable times.
Even when working, our emphasis is on fun !

We are a member of PICYA, Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association. Most other Yacht Clubs
with their own facilities, both nationally and internationally, give formal or informal
reciprocal privileges. SYC is proud that we can offer such facilities to our guests, a tradition
that has earned us the title "Your Upriver Host". Nowhere is this more evident than during the
Memorial DayJazz Festival Cruise-in, when we have had in excess of 150 visiting boats.

Why Should I join SYC?
If you desire a fun social environment in which to enjoy boating and boat related activities,
then SYC is for you. Check our event pages for listings of events. But that is just the start,

How do I join SYC?
It's easy! Use the listing below to help you. If you do not know any current SYC members please contact any Officer listed under directory or simply come on by and talk to any member. We are not a "stuffy" club and you will find us friendly and informal. Membership requirements are listed below. Note that boat ownership is not one of them (although there is a cap to non-boat owner numbers).

What are the membership requirements?
1. Attendance at club events  
2. Sponsorship by 2 members  
3. Payment of initiation fee: $750.00  
4. Approval by membership committee and board.
5. Payment of annual dues (or pro-rated amount)

How much does it cost?
Initiation fee: $750.00 (one time)
Annual membership dues: $505.00 
Slip rental fees:Vary with size and type (there is a wait list for most categories).
